We are deeply honoured and delighted that the above haiku has also been included in the World Haiku Series 2021, with a beautiful Japanese translation by Mr Hidenori Hiruta.

  1. I hope there are seeds that will take and grow. Here in Canada our West Coast has been devastated by floods. They always have rain and a lot of it. I grew up there so I remember that. But now with climate change those rains are torrential and devastating. And still our government speaks of the oil and gas industry in Alberta without even a hint of curtailing it or of providing funding to retrain those workers who are working in that industry.

    1. Thank you kindly dear Anne 💚 We are hopeful as the Scottish government, which includes two ministers from the Green Party as part of a recent power-sharing deal, has made a strong commitment to protect the environment and support the reforestation and rewilding programmes, the renewable energy sector, green housing projects and green public transport. It seems many of the smaller nations are able to lead by example and we would love to see the Canadian government start a sustainable decomissioning programme in Alberta and support the retraining of all the workers. The renewable energy sector here is thriving and this could provide alternative employment in Canada too 💚🙏 xxx

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Suzanne, I’m very hopeful it will happen here in Scotland (and other small nations with a green agenda) and that the larger nations will follow 💚🌿🙏
