At Tranature we care about your privacy. Our website is on a premium package with WordPress and is designed to be free from adverts in order for our visitors to enjoy the images and poems in peace. All Visitor and User Information on WordPress is processed by Automattic.
We do not operate a mailing list or share your details with any other parties or mailing lists. We do not share any information you provide us via the Contact form unless we are required to do so by law.
Cookies:
In order for the website to function, WordPress uses cookies to help you navigate between blog posts and pages. A cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page when you first load the website and you can find further information on the Automattic Cookie Policy by clicking on the link.
You may, at any time, prevent the setting of cookies by disabling cookies within the Internet browser that you use. In addition, you can delete any cookies already set via your own Internet browser and software programmes. The clearing of cookies is possible in all popular Internet browsers. Please note that, when you choose to deactivate the setting of cookies in your Internet browser when visiting our website, not all the functions (such as ‘liking’ or commenting) may be entirely useable.
Commenting on the Blog:
You can leave a comment on our blog posts which, once approved, will be visible to everyone who reads that post. If you wish to leave a comment that will not be published you can use the Contact Form. Whichever way you choose to comment, Automattic will collect that comment and other information that you provide such as your name, email address, website URL (if provided) and IP address in order to process that comment.
All comments are automatically screened by Akismet for spam. We reserve the right to refuse any comments which are deemed inappropriate and remove links to external websites from your comment before approval.
For further information on comments and Akismet’s handling of spam please read Automattic’s Privacy Policy here.
Any comments made via the Contact page will be deleted once they have been responded to unless they are required to be retained by law.
If you want one or more of your own comments left on our blog to be removed you can request this via our Contact page.
Data Protection of Minors:
Young people are welcome to visit our website if they enjoy images and poems about nature and wildlife. They can interact with the site with consent from a parent or guardian. It is not our intention to collect data on minors (children under the age of 16) without this consent. If you are the parent or guardian of a minor who left a comment on our blog and you wish this comment and associated data to be removed you can request this via our Contact page.
Following the Blog:
Automattic processes your data when you follow our blog in order for every new post published by us to appear in your WordPress Reader. If you no longer wish to follow you can deselect the ‘follow’ button in your Reader or at the bottom of our blog posts.
If you choose to follow our blog via email, WordPress will automatically send you an email message every time we publish a post on our blog. If you no longer wish to receive these emails you can select the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the email message.
For further information on how Automattic processes data for followers of a blog please read Automattic’s Privacy Policy here.
Pingbacks and Comments:
When another blogger mentions one of our blog posts on their blog they will leave a pingback on our blog in the Comments section. When clicking on these pingbacks it will take you away from our website and the Privacy Policy of the external website(s) you are visiting will apply.
When someone leaves a comment in our Comments section and you click on this blogger’s name or gravatar, their link will take you away from our website and the Privacy Policy of the external website(s) you are visiting will apply.
Internal and External Links:
Occasionally, within the context of a certain blog post, we provide an internal link to an earlier blog post which may be of interest. When you select this link you will be directed to another post or page within the Tranature site and you will still be covered by the same Privacy Policy.
Tranature supports other bloggers who host poetry and photography challenges and will frequently include an external link at the bottom of a post to one or more poetry or photography prompts. When clicking on these links you will leave our website and see the original prompt and other responses to these prompts.
We also, from time to time, provide a link to external organisations such as charities, mountain rescue organisations, avalanche report sites as well links to music videos within the context of a particular blog post. When you click on these links you will leave our website and arrive on the site that is being mentioned.
You are under no obligation to click on any of these external links. However, when you do, it will take you away from our website and the Privacy Policy of the external website(s) you are visiting will apply.
If you have any concern about the way these external sites handle your data please let us know via the Contact page and we shall review the suitability of the inclusion of the link in question.
