Silent Sunday: A Weekend Break

This will be my last Silent Sunday post for the year while I take a break to rest and recharge at weekends.

It has been a great pleasure participating in this weekly challenge for more than four years, where we let the images speak for themselves.

As from 1st August 2022, I will only be posting here on Wednesdays, whilst I continue to post on Mondays and Thursdays on our sister blog, Whippet Wisdom.

Thank you for all your fun shares, comments and visits on Sundays, it has been a true delight.

Wishing you all a blessed Sunday and a peaceful new week,

with love from Xenia xxx

I wrote this haiku in honour of the volunteers from the RNLI who will go out in all weathers to rescue people from our seas, lakes, rivers and floods.

If you want to find out more about what they do, are interested in volunteering or wish to support them in other ways please visit their website here.

Wishing you all safe harbour,

Haibun: Autumn Equinox

a male swan and his cygnet in the pond

We’re enjoying an Indian Summer. Here and there some leaves are changing colour, a few float along the stream into the pond. The only cygnet that remains is showing his first white feathers. His parents have changed their plumage too. The sun travels lower through the sky, wrapping our world in warmest light.
