Weekly Prompts Wednesday Challenge: Displays
This is our second lovely find while walking the trails near the Corbenic Camphill Community, a home for people with social, emotional, intellectual and learning disabilities in the heart of Scotland.
You can see a beautiful selection of stones, painted and embedded in benches by members of the community, in my Corbenic Circles and Curves post.

Riding Out the Storm at Portsoy
Clan Cancer Support, in partnership with Wild in Art, shone a light across the north-east, Moray, Orkney and Shetland with Light the North, a lighthouse trail from 9 August to 17 October 2021. It was designed to provide a light in the dark for people affected by cancer and the lighthouses were later auctioned off to raise funds for the charity.
The above lighthouse, Riding Out the Storm by mosaic artist Rachel Davies, stood on a plinth at Portsoy harbour during this time and the local community loved it so much they wanted to keep it. With the help of crowdfunding organised by the Portsoy 75 Club and the local community, they succeeded in offering the winning bid.
We have been meaning to visit the area and this particular lighthouse for some time and it is lovely to see every little detail of the mosaics up close.
Wishing you all a blessed Sunday and may you always have a light to guide you through the storms,

Lens-Artists Weekly Photo Challenge #200: Every Little Thing
Julie Williams, a Highland art student, is inviting people to send her photographs of the word hope created out of items found in their homes or on their daily walks for her HOPE Art Project. The idea is that every participant creates, through their own artistic expression, a historical record of their hope during the current Covid-19 crisis.
With this in mind I set off on our morning walk with my camera, trusting I would find a quiet place on the beach with enough natural materials to create the word hope while keeping a safe social distance from others.
Whilst creating the piece, I reflected on how everything I experience on my walks fills me with hope. The sea has never been cleaner, the sky never so blue. People are kind and looking out for one another. So many good things are happening alongside all the sadness and loss. I hope all the good things will stay.
After creating the piece I left it there for others to enjoy or add their own messages to it.
If you’d like to take part yourself, please visit Julie’s website here.
Wishing you all a blessed Sunday and a peaceful week ahead,
with love from Xenia xxx
