coming home … an apache tear still in my pocket

haikuKATHA Issue 14, December 2022

We were treated to a spectacular display of the Northern Lights on Monday night and passengers on the Loganair Manchester to Inverness flight were offered a ring-side seat!
Apache tears are said to bring comforting and gentle support when you are grieving and when I put my hand in my pocket and felt the one still there, it sparked the above poem.
Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday and a peaceful rest of the week,
with love from Xenia xxx

OMG Xenia what amazing images, wonderful thoughts and poem. I think we all carry Apache tears in our pockets. Thank you for letting me know they are there. Whether we a grieving for a loved one or a change in our lives, we all need comfort.

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Anne, it was a healer from Peru who told me about Apache tears, and I have carried this little one with me for nearly forty years now. I really feel it helps bring comfort and is a gentle reminder of how none of us are ever walking these journeys alone 🧡 xxx

Oh, Xenia, what a beautiful gift from the universe you were blessed with. Thank you for introducing me to Apache tears. I was unaware of the stone or its legend. I suspect the Apache tear in your pocket supported you in tears of joy to see this beautiful celestial delight. I appreciate you sharing it with us.

How I’d love to witness the northern lights! I live too far south to experience this phenomenon but whenever I see a photo of the aurora borealis, part of me leaps with a silly kind of joy. These images are gorgeous, and remind me of photos a friend of mine who used to lived in Sitka, Alaska sent to me over the years. Also, strangely enough, I’d never heard of Apache tears (odd, because I live in the American Southwest, only a few hours form some Apache reservations, and my above-mentioned friend now lives in Arizona and was an RN for many years on an Apache reservation). I need to get an Apache tear to carry around with me. Thanks for such an inspiring post, Xenia. Beautiful as always. Much love to you and yours, and a special hello to Misty! 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Mike and Misty says thank you too 🐾💛🐾 It was a truly magical experience and I can imagine how beautiful the lights will be in Alaska, Iceland and other places further north. Apache tears are very comforting and you can carry one in your pocket or in a medicine pouch. If they are healing many sorrows it will be good to cleanse them from time to time, either in running water, in moonlight or with a gratitude blessing 💜

Staggeringly gorgeous, Xenia! They really put on a show for you! I got to see mine the first time last year from my front porch here in Northeastern Washington—not as spectacular but still the northern lights!
