There are so many glorious vistas in your world Xenia. We enjoyed several of the beautiful castles when we visited and I think this may have been one of them. We didn’t get close but saw it both from the road and from a lovely restaurant that overlooked it. A very fond memory indeed.

Stunning and serene photos, Xenia. I long to see places like this. Yesterday, my older sister–who knows well my love of Scotland–gifted me a book about this wonderful land. More than 250 pages of photos and text describing all aspects of Scotland. It’s so fascinating! It’s not quite the same as actually setting foot in this magical place, but it will certainly serve to inspire me from afar. Your words and images provide peace and tranquility. Beautiful vistas Xenia. I am always fascinated by ruined structures. I like to sit nearby and wonder what it was like when it was newer and people were living there hustling and bustling about. Have a peaceful and happy week !

Must have been a formidable fortification in its heyday, but I love how it now blends with the landscape in its ruin. Beautiful images, Xenia.

Your castle images brought me back to my visit decades ago. I remember clambering through the ruins and giving my head a good whack as I crawled through one of the window lintels. Good memories.
