happy hospitality
for Nessie-hunters

We were not sure what we were seeing in the distance and cropped the image:

At first I thought it was a wave, then I wondered whether it was driftwood. Could it be Nessie? I am not sure what we are looking at here, so if you have any idea, please let me know!
Wishing you all a blessed Sunday and a peaceful week ahead.
I am taking a short blogging break and will be back on Sunday 12 June 2022.
With love from Xenia xxx

You never know, do you? Hope you get some rest over your break. After losing your two beautiful dogs, I expect you really need it.

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Laurie, we really need a break to recharge and take some time to relax after everything that has happened. The boat trip was our first outing since taking some time off work and it was so lovely to be on the water. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead too 💜 xxx

Interesting photo! Maybe it’s a pterodactyl emerging from the water? 🙂

Honestly, I’ve been fascinated with Loch Ness since I was a kid. In addition to the mystery and legend surrounding it, it’s simply a gorgeous landscape and one I’ve yearned to experience for decades. I wonder if any of my Scottish ancestors (and current-day long-lost relatives) have visited this place… Your photos took me there for a few moments, and I sure appreciate that, Xenia. It’s a magical place. Take care and enjoy your time off. Lots of love and support from Colorado. 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Mike and it wouldn’t surprise me if your ancestors visited here too. It is a beautiful loch with a mystical air around it and I will share some more photographs next Sunday. If you ever get a chance to visit I really hope you will take a boat trip too. Wishing you a wonderful week as well and much love from our house to yours 💛

Wonderful shots, Xenia 👏 Whilst I would love to say it was Nessie; it’s something more mundane — the constructive interference of two crossing wakes. One is the wake from your boat, the other being a remnant of the wake from another boat. Whilst the older wake is not clearly visible, the disturbance in the water can remain for hours on a calm day 😃 Science lesson over 😂 & yes I am a colossal geek 🥸

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Jez and for the much appreciated science lesson! 😊 Someone told me that the boats sometimes create these wakes on purpose as a bit of fun to entertain their passengers too 😀💦

My heart is full after reading the above comment regarding the loss of your precious pets, I’ve been rather quiet and may have missed a post…your photos are so clear and beautiful, I hope the view brought you some solace.

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Kim, it has been a very sad time. Eivor made a peaceful transition after a love-filled period of palliative care which still brought so many moments of bliss where he was pain-free and enjoying time in nature. Pearl followed him across the rainbow bridge seven days later and we had a feeling this might happen, as the bond between them was so strong in life it seemed inevitable it would continue in spirit. Whilst everything still feels raw, there has been an enormous amount of support from earth angels, heavenly angels and the healing balm of nature on days by the loch as these. Hope you are keeping well and much love from our house to yours 💞💜💞 xxx
