Wordless Wednesday: Pink Blooms

Rock Peony

If anyone knows the name of these flowers I would love to hear! The blooms are the size of large oriental poppies and grow on a shrub with small green leaves.

UPDATE: Thanks to Cathy, Cee and Eliza we have discovered it is a Rock Peony.

Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday,

with love from Xenia xxx

  1. These are so pretty, Xenia. I think they are in the poppy family–the closest I could find was Harlem poppies. I’m anxious to see what anyone else can find out.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words and your help dear Lois 🌺 The flower looks very similar to a Harlem poppy but the leaves look very different. Fingers crossed someone will recognise the shrub and we can solve the mystery!

  2. They are so beautiful. I thought it was a poppy at first until I saw it was a shrub. I tried the google lens app. The nearest suggestion was paeonia rockii or tree peony. We’ll see if anyone has a positive ID πŸ€— Happy Wednesday to you all πŸ’•πŸ•πŸ’•xxx
