Silent Sunday: On a Bend in the River

a swan pair with preening cygnets preening by the river

The seven cygnets nesting on our river are ten weeks old today and the first white feathers are beginning to show.

You can see them at one week old in our earlier post Welcome to the World.

Wishing you all a blessed Sunday and a peaceful week ahead,

with love from Xenia xxx

  1. They look very healthy and strong. We have three cygnets on the pond near us. They are not as old as your ones but I am happy to see that they are still here and did not make a meal for a snapping turtle ! Peace to you Xenia in the coming week.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Eliza and I’m so sorry to hear there’s much predation and loss where you are. Fingers crossed these seven will continue to strengthen up. They’ve had a good start with all the fine weather and well-stocked feeding grounds so far 💚🙏
