It is a treat to see how patient herons are when using these trusted old methods to catch a new meal every day.
At the same I felt for the small fish and said a few prayers for him and his family.
Wishing you all a blessed Sunday and a peaceful week ahead,
with love from Xenia xxx

I suppose the heron thinks fish are there for his good. Thanks for joining in with today’s prompt.

I always feel the same when I see the birds catch their prey, but that’s natural selection in process of course. Lovely post

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Tina. In nature there is often this disappearing of one animal inside another and I didn’t want to intervene or disturb the balance 💜 xxx

Lovely captures, Xenia 💚Animals have to eat but on the other hand I always feel sorry when it’s a live food source. Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday 🤗💖🐕xxx

I, too, always feel bad for animals that are eaten. But that’s how nature is. Nice captures.

I’m always pleasantly surprised when I come across a feeding heron and even though it’s sad to see a small fish taken, the patience that these majestic birds have is amazing. Thank you for sharing the beauty of nature, Xenia…

I came across a juvenile in the shallows recently, they kept their eyes on the water almost pretending, if I can’t see you, you can’t see me…he or she was a delight to watch for a few precious moments.

It helps me to imagine that the fish will soon become heron, a transformation, not an end. ❤
