evening glow
on rustling leaves, a castle
this dance with time
a pause in all our journeys
before we fly away

Duck energy – now there’s something I have never thought about before. 🙂 What a delightful idea – I must pay more attention next time I see some.

The photograph is amazing, Xenia! It really conveys space in the landscape. I had to look carefully for the ducks – how did you get them to do that? 🙂 My favourite lines in the haiku are:
‘this dance with time
a pause in all our journeys’.

Thank you so much for your kind words Kim 💜 There is only one duck in the second image, the same male mallard as in the first image. He was taking off from the water and created a trail of splashes with his feet. I was using a high shutter speed on the camera that captured the motion of water on his ‘runway’ 🙂💖 xxx

Beautiful duck. I was amazed when I was looking up ducks that there are so many different ones.
In our creek there two or three different kinds. 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind words Jules 💜 There are so many varieties and even among the mallard ducks we see here they have very individual markings 🙂🦆
