hopeful eyes

This duck was waiting patiently below the birdfeeder, knowing that some seeds would find their way to the grass whenever another bird was feeding above him.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
With love, Xenia xxx

The squirrels here are the ones under the feeder. And chipmunks too. 🙂

So lovely! In the forests people have separate feeders for the squirrels and they tend to leave the birdfeeders for the birds :o)

I sometimes toss extra seed. I have what is supposed to be a squirrel proof feeder – just for the squirrels. I know some folks put out corn for the squirrels. The only thing I put out is black oil sunflower seeds.

I am sure the squirrels will appreciate your kind offerings! Here we tend to feed them nuts and fruit in special feeders where they lift the lid with their heads – there are some pictures in an earlier post: https://tranature.com/2018/06/13/haibun-red-squirrel-feeder/
