    1. No worries Laurie, the heat only slips away in the shade of the trees! These two are male mallard ducks and they were looking for a place to cool down away from the blazing sun over the loch :o) xxx

      1. Phew! You had me worried. 😉 Somehow, those ducks didn’t look like the mallards we have here. Both have green heads, though, so I should have known.

  1. Have you seen any ducklings yet? We have one family of five and one family of two little ones – although in just a couple of weeks time they are already adolescents. Glad the mallards found some respite from the heat.

    1. Thank you LuAnne, so lovely to hear you have ducklings! Sadly all the ducklings that hatched on the river were eaten by crows. We have not seen any ducklings on the loch yet and are keeping our
      fingers crossed!💜 xxx
